Love that it saves space, low priced, and easy to mount (as long as you have basic knowledge of doing things around the house)Not fond of knob and latch, plastic gold... tacky and tackless simultaneously. It took almost 1 hour to put it together instructions were straight forward. There is even YouTube link for instructions. Good part is hanging on the wall. So easy to hangOnly thing I see wrong with these is the center bord is not flat it's set on an angle .Desk is very sturdy, but Wish desk was one size larger.I kind of have mixed feelings on this item. On the one hand, it does what I personally need it to do it, which is provide a small dedicated space as a vanity table. They are very few items that can do the job, from what I found when I was shopping. On the other hand, it’s not terribly well-made and I have a feeling the latch is going to break any second (it’s not actual metal I don’t think, but plastic painted gold. If it is metal, it’s a very cheap thin type because my latch bends a bit). That said, a latch is replaceable. I had a couple of resin rose appliqués that I painted gold and glued to the front to give it a more personalized look.I had a real issue with the hinge at first. It would seem fine when I tested it out loose, but as soon as I screwed it in, the door wouldn’t close all the way. The assembly instructions are detailed enough to guide you almost effortlessly through putting the wooden parts together, but they don’t really give you a lot of detail about the hinge, which after looking at review photos of how varied all the hinges are, might be on purpose. It seems like they just find whatever hinge is cheapest at the time of packing and include that one, so they don’t commit to a particular type in the illustrations. This means that there isn’t sufficient detail in the drawing to figure out what you did wrong. If you have trouble with the hinges, try flipping them so that the notches face downward. It took me ages to figure out what I was doing wrong. There is a link in the description for this item to a YouTube video that shows you how to assemble, and that was where I realized where my mistake was.Hanging it up wasn’t too bad, although they suggest screwing both hanger clips into a stud about 23 inches apart, and since the standard spacing for studs is 16 inches apart, that’s essentially impossible for most people’s walls. I screwed one side into a stud and I’m just going to hope for the best. I hung it a little high so that I won’t be tempted to lean forward on my elbows and pull it out of the wall. All in all, if you’re desperate for desk space in a tiny room, you don’t have a lot to spend, and you’re willing to do some minor replacements on hardware later, I would give this a try. But it does take some extra effort to figure out and isn’t as high-quality as I would have liked.- It’s minimalist design makes it easy to style to match any room aesthetic.- The instructions were a bit complicated to follow towards the end , so you’ll need some imagination there. All you need is included in the box. I chose to leave the middle shelf out.- I used my stud finder to find the studs in my wall, I made pilot holes with my drill, and then for the rest, I used a screwdriver.- to mount it at the right height , I placed a chair next to the wall and then marked the wall for about where my belly button would be if I were sitting .There’s a natural wood design available by another sellerConcerns I have about this product:1. The desk is extremely small. Almost nothing “desk-related” (tape dispenser, stapler, paper, etc.) will fit the small cubby holes. The picture is very deceiving.2. I’m worried if any pressure is placed on the fold-down writing shelf, the unit will break or fall from the wall.3. There are no round dots to cover exposed screw heads. The unit looks unfinished.4. Assembly was a nightmare! On more than one occasion during the multiple hours it took me to complete this task, I wanted to give up. Anyone who says this desk is easy to assemble (or can be easily assembled by one person) is a master carpenter/woodworker. First, there are no words on the directions, only pictures. Many steps require multiple actions and there is nothing that tells you which action to take first. Some parts can only work correctly if placed a certain direction and it’s impossible to tell from the pictures which direction is correct. The most difficult assembly is the fold-down shelf. Do you attach the hinges first or the two arms the hold the shelf? Hinges are pre-attached to the shelf, but those hinges have to be attached to the box in a space that man-sized hands don’t fit to maneuver the screwdriver. And if the hinges aren’t perfectly aligned, the shelf won’t fold flush into the box and the tiny latch won’t work. Lastly, hanging the finished unit on the wall is very difficult. After much frustration, I discovered why there are notches on the back of the box (never shown in any of the picture directions). Measuring without allowing for the notches means you have to move the brackets after they’ve been attached to the wall with anchors! After the time, energy, and frustration this desk caused me, I just hope it will be a place where I can pay my bills and do some computer work.EDIT: i have used the desk for a few days and my “sturdiness” concerns were unfounded. It has stayed securely on the wall. Also, it appears that a major goal for this company is to provide good customer service, something becoming more rare in the retail industry. They responded to my review quickly, offered a fair compensation for my concerns, and seemed willing to improve their product in the future. What more could we, the consumer, expect? We had a couple fails in getting the supports into the studs of the wall but once we did it is super sturdy. It took almost four hours for one person to assemble and install to the wall. The last step is to hang the cabinet to two clips on the wall and it’s not safe. For me, the desk fell off the clips twice, broke my wall skirting, but luckily I didn’t get hurt.Easy to follow instructions. Be sure to understand which part is 6 and which is 9. It takes some time to put together but isn’t hard to do. One hinge was installed crooked do the hinge Was vent and didn’t work properly. I had no choice but to fill one of the existing holes and drill a new one. Some of the locking hardware pieces didn’t seat properly and there was also some damage to the front piece that I will have to cover or paint. Pourquoi ????Sturdier than prior reviews indicated, and after a whole lots IKEA assemblies this was simple. Just took some time. Parts are NUMBERED!
