I ordered one of these and wasn't able to plug it in and test it until about 2 months after when I got done building the desk top I mounted to it. I was super disappointed that when I plugged it in and tried using it I kept getting an Error 5 which would retract the desk to a previous position but I also got an Error 8 which was more frustrating because you would have to recalibrate the desk at the lowest height and wait for the desk to lower all the way. So I returned this base and got a 2nd one that did the EXACT SAME THING. At first I was upset but then....*IMPORTANT*The instructions say nothing about these errors but I didn't figure out why I was getting them until after I returned the first one and got a second base that did the same thing. The control box with the arrows has a sensor in it(probably an accelerometer) that detects any sudden changes in direction; like if it is bumped or if the motors don't cooperate correctly and jerk.**SOLVED**I realized that with the first and second base I had not mounted the control box to the desk top until I had confirmed it was working. However this was causing the errors I was getting because once held the control box still on the desk top it worked correctly. I recreated the errors by bumping my desk (causing the control box to move) when the box was mounted which confirmed why they happen.**My Review**I gave this base a 4/5 and if I followed the instructions to a tee I would have gave it a 5/5 stars because it is really good quality and the packaging is also really good. I took a Star away because of the lack of support on troubleshooting the desk if anything goes wrong. There's nothing on the instructions or on any included documents that tell you what the errors mean, or that it has safety protections put into place to prevent the desk from moving too fast. If it would have mentioned it somewhere it would easily be a 5/5 star.I want to preface this by stating that this is my first sit/stand desk chassis. I bought this to support an 80"x30"x1" MDF desk surface, that currently supports a significant weight in gaming hardware, including a 49" super-ultra-wide monitor, 2x 22" monitors, and 2x mid-tower cases. With all of that said, this desk has been serving it's purpose with no issues thus far, after a week of use.Assembly:The building process for this product was incredibly simple and straight forward. All tools and hardware necessary are included in the box, and literally only takes about 5-10 minutes to assemble. Width is easily adjustable by loosening 4 bolts on the crossbar and sliding legs apart. I was able to get the chassis to about 62" in width before mounting my 80" desk surface to it. Screws for the desk surface you intend to install are also included with the hardware for this chassis. The desk controller mounts to the bottom of the surface with included screws, but if you're not comfortable screwing into your desk you could probably just use command strips or double-sided gorilla tape, though it may have some give if you do that. The only negative thing I can say about this product is that with my monitors standing 33" tall from the surface of the desk, I notice some movement when I'm interacting with my peripherals. I would take that with a grain of salt though, some of that may be exaggerated by my monitor arms.To conclude this review, I genuinely believe this is a great choice for a dual motor sit/stand desk chassis. You won't find a dual motor chassis of this size for less here on amazon, trust me, I scoured the whole site. The build was a bit complicated because the instructions are not very clear, so it took a little bit of time to figure all that out. (If I could I would give it a 4.5 stars rating)Once built, however, I was impressed with how smooth the table went up and down. I was also quite impressed with how high the table went. I've looked at a lot of those desk stands, and this one checked off all the boxes (quiet, dual motor, numbered height display, support load of 264lbs, and width adjustable from 43" to 69")
