I purchased this because we have a lot of yorkies. The quality of the clock is like any other clock. It has the little battery box on the back. But, it comes with a little stand that suits the clock well. Table top only, not suitable for hanging. I've had it for almost 2 years and have had to replace the battery only once. Good purchase.
